Typical school playgrounds leave students out

Chaotic structures, tall nets and towers look fun, but high platforms, narrow pathways, stairs, and ladders shut out many students. Even "inclusive" designs often skip swings, spinners, and quiet spaces, so they serve only a fraction of the school.

Typical school playgrounds

Static, one-note, and excluding

  • Plastic structures built mostly for able-bodied kids and one type of play

  • No swings, spinners, sensory, or imaginative play

  • Tan bark, sand, or gravel that wheelchairs can't cross

  • Students return to class unfocused and under-stimulated
