Socially inclusive and physically accessible, Magical Bridge welcomes the 1 in 4 people living with physical, cognitive, or sensory disabilities — including autism and age-related challenges. Our research-backed layout and curated equipment promote group and solo discovery, imagination, fitness, and reflection. More than a playground, Magical Bridge brings communities together.
Wheelchair ramps are not enough. Magical Bridge considers the full spectrum of disabilities to ensure everybody can play, everywhere.

Outdoor play is one of the most effective ways for people of any age to boost health and wellbeing, yet most playgrounds overlook the 1 in 4 people with disabilities. We're changing that.

Magical Bridge Play Zones
Every Magical Bridge playground is organized into grouped play experiences for greater predictability and ease of navigation. The Play Zones introduce essential movement, space for creativity and imagination, group play, quiet reflection, and non-verbal expression.

Innovation
With roots in Silicon Valley, we work with our network of experts—from tech companies, research institutions, Stanford, USC, and more—to explore how technology, AI, and cutting-edge research can enhance our playgrounds and programs.
Accessibility
We include no-transfer equipment, ramps, bridges, and low-grade walkways throughout our play spaces for ease of navigation everywhere. You won't find wood chips, sand, or loose particles in our playgrounds.
Product Design
We co-develop custom products to meet the needs of our playground visitors, such as our patented Slide and Sit bench landing, Hideaway Hut, Play Stage, Kindness and Conversation Circle, and Kindness Library.
Things you can look forward to at Magical Bridge
Play Zones
No structures here. Instead, you'll find Play Zones, each dedicated to a type of play (e.g., swing and sway, slide and climb, spin, sensory and music, imagination, kindness and conversation, and tot play). This layout provides predictability while setting expectations. Space between Play Zones allows for decision-making and endless opportunities.
Kids and seniors, playing together
When's the last time you sat in a swing? Our equipment is selected to accommodate all sizes so adults can get in on the action. No plastics or themes—just unique and, dare we say, sophisticated play experiences you won't find in typical playgrounds.
Conversations about Kindness
Our Kindness and Conversation Play Zone is a place for reflection and thoughtful conversations. Filled with artwork, quotes, and sayings, this area can be a seating circle, a wall, or a bench—no matter, the message is the same: be kind, celebrate differences, and make friends.
Special places for retreat
We developed our Hideaway Huts as a quiet retreat from play, which is especially important for people with autism. Wide enough for a wheelchair and tall enough for an adult to stand inside, our original designs are crafted by Barbara Butler, a renowned wood artist, with a new style available in composite wood for durability and easy shipment across the United States.
Safe and secure fencing
Not the most exciting element in the playground, but one of the most important. Perimeter fencing and entrance gates enclose the entire playground area, giving parents and caregivers peace of mind as everyone can explore safely and independently without fear of running too far or out into the street.
Murals by local artists
Sponsored by HP, at each Magical Bridge, you'll find artwork created by local disabled artists. We work with Creativity Explored in San Francisco, Ability Path in the Bay Area, and The Art Faculty in Singapore to bring our walls to life. In Redwood City and Sunnyvale, we worked with local ceramics artists to create beautiful tactile murals. Are you an artist? Get in touch for our next project!
Slide and Sit Landings™
When designing the first Magical Bridge playground in Palo Alto, we knew we wanted wheelchair users to access the top of the mound to slide down with their friends, but what happens at the bottom? Enter our patented Slide and Sit Landing (or Slide-Aside): a bench attachment at the end of the slide for those who need extra time waiting for their mobility device or assistance from a friend.
